Banana Tissue Culture Plants
Banana is a crop with enormous commercial potential for Central India. Banana is conventionally propagated through rhizomes which are not found in abundance and secondly, they cause poor, irregular growth and yields. Tissue Culture banana overcomes these problems and provides vigorous, uniform and early growth, resulting into increased yields. Commercial Cultivation of Tissue culture banana was first time introduced in Chhattisgarh and parts of Central India by Aditya Bio-tech Lab.
This has brought about a revolutionary change in economy of poor farmers.
Present varieties of banana like grand naine, mahalaxmi, shrimant and basrai are being cultivated through tissue culture in Central India. These varieties have potential to yield 20-40 Kg. fruits per plant in 11-12 months of planting.
